Silverwoods is a resort based residential community that has been masterplanned around a championship golf course on a 160 Ha site that has extensive frontage to Lake Mulwala. Construction commenced in 2007 and the golf course is expected to be open for play in late 2010.
DPS were the development managers for the project from site purchase through the planning rezoning phase, and marketing to commencement of construction.
With an integral involvement in all aspects of the project, DPS were successful in initiating development strategies that met with the approval of key stakeholders such as Moira Shire Council and Goulburn Murray Water.
The masterplan was developed on a medium term staged basis with the golf course designed and laid out to ensure compatibility with the surrounding residential land in terms of access and safety. Other key features were the development of golf holes around the new internal lake systems that also formed part of the water management and quality systems.
The golf course has been named the "Black Bull" in reference to the Aberdeen angus bull stud that was the former use of the site. It will be operated as a public access golf course and will add to the existing golfing infrastructure along the Murray River region.
